New Scientist 28 August 1993, 14. Several plant species produce a large 
proportion of fruits with no seeds. At least in Pistacia terebinthus, this 
seems to be a defense against attacks by insects. By producing many seedless 
fruits, Pistacia makes life difficult for egg-laying wasps, because they are 
lured into wasting a lot of time laying eggs in useless fruits.
