Have you seen what happened to violent crime in Florida and Oregon after        
allowing the law abiding citizens to carry firearms?                            
                                                                                
Who are the criminals singling out in Florida now?  Tourists, who do not        
carry weapons, not the local citizens.   
 Professor Gary Kleck at Florida State Universityhas published a book and       
several articles on guns and violence in America.  Prof. Kleck is a gun         
control advocate, has published a book ("Point Blank:Guns and Violence in       
America" and several articles in journals.  He evaluates the governments own    
numbers to show that an armed citizens are safer than unarmed.  His book is     
very interesting reading, as is a study he and Karen McElrath, Duquesne         
University, published in "Social Forces" in 1991.
