From victor@ccr-p.ida.org Mon Jun 9 15:07:46 1997 Date: Mon, 9 Jun 1997 10:34:54 -0400 From: Victor Miller -- editor Number Theory Net To: NMBRTHRY@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU Subject: Goldbach's Conjecture Nikos Tzanakis asked: >Up to what limit Goldbach's Conjecture has been tested to this day ? Two responses were received. The first from Marek Wolf said: As I know the largest published checking of the Goldbach conjecture was up to 4\times 10^{11}. It was done by Matti K. Sinisalo and appeared in Math.Comp. 61 (1993), pp. 931-934. The second was from Herman te Riele : Jean-Marc Deshouillers, Yannick Saouter and Herman te Riele have verified this up to 10^14 with the help, partly, of a Cray C90, and partly of workstations. They also have verified this conjecture for the intervals [10^j, 10^j+10^9] for various values of j between (and including) 15 and 200. A report is being prepared.
