From hdubner1@CompuServe.com Wed Feb 24 14:26:02 1999 Date: Tue, 23 Feb 1999 09:17:57 -0500 From: Harvey Dubner To: NMBRTHRY@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU Subject: Palindromic Prime Record I have just found the largest known palindromic prime: P = 1000...0004300034000...0001 , 19391 digits. Note that the number of digits is a palidromic prime (no accident). P can also be expressed as, P = 10^19390 + 4300034*10^9692 + 1 The search took the equivalent of about 66 days on a Pentium/200, which was not far from the expected time. The previous record for such a prime was 16361 digits. Harvey Dubner
