January 3, 2000 It is with great sadness that I must report to you that Victor Serebriakoff, a man to whom Mensa owes so much, is no longer with us. Victor passed away yesterday, January 1, 2000 at about 10 a.m. in the morning GMT. His end was peaceful, at home with his family and coming after some months of illness. Victor was one of Mensa's visionaries. He is thought of as the man most responsible for the very existence of American Mensa, having been the one who hired Margot and whose many visits to the USA led to favorable publicity and increased Mensa activity. In my many previous offices in American Mensa I had many occasions over our 25+ years of friendship to interact with Victor. I always found him to be totally dedicated to Mensa and its growth. He had only two great loves in the world, his late wife Win and Mensa. He toiled tirelessly on behalf of Mensa. I know all of Mensa will join me in sending to his family our sincerest condolences. I also know that Mensa will miss him very much. I have asked Chris Leek, Chairman of British Mensa, and Ed Vincent, International Executive Director, to represent International Mensa at the funeral.
